Corvallis, Ore. – Oregon State senior quarterback Sean Mannion became the Pacific-12 Conference leader in career passing yardage on Saturday night during the Beavers’ game with California at Reser Stadium.
Mannion assumed first place on a 15-yard completion to tight end Connor Hamlett with 14:02 remaining in the game that increased his career total to 12,3x34yards. Ex-USC star Matt Barkley (2009-12) held the record with 12,327 before Saturday.
Mannion began the season in 10th all-time with 10,436 yards. He eclipsed Arizona State’s Rudy Carpenter (10,491) and Andrew Walter (10,492); USC’s Matt Leinart (10,693); UCLA’s Cade McNown (10,708); Stanford’s Steve Stenstrom (10,911); Washington State’s Alex Brink (10,913); OSU’s Derek Anderson (11,249), USC’s Carson Palmer (11,818) and Barkley on his march to the top.
