Saquon Barkley scored from one yard out with 1:43 left on the clock and the New York Giants picked up a 24-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens Sunday at MetLife Stadium. NY Giants vs Ravens showdown promises to be a thrilling game for NFL fans.
The Giants (5-1) notched their third straight win and have a favorable schedule over the next five weeks against Jacksonville (2-4), Seattle (3-3), Houston (1-3-1), and Detroit (1-4) combined with their bye week.
Kenyan Drake broke loose on a 30-yard touchdown run to give Baltimore an early lead. But New York put together a 10-play, 53-yard drive highlighted by a five-yard scoring pass from Daniel Jones to rookie receiver Wan’Dale Robinson to tie the game.
A pair of field goals from Justin Tucker pushed the Ravens’ lead to 13-7 in the third quarter, but Graham Gano drilled a 34-yarder to cut the lead to 13-10 heading into the final 15 minutes of the game.
The Ravens (3-3) drove 75 yards in eight plays to go up 20-10. Lamar Jackson hit tight end Mark Andrews for a 12-yard touchdown to finish the 4:06 scoring drive.
New York answered back with a 12-play, 75-yard drive that consumed nearly seven minutes off the clock. Jones connected with first-year tight end Daniel Bellinger on an eight-yard touchdown pass to make it a three-point contest.
The Ravens appeared to be in control of the game when Jackson picked up a first down near midfield with less than three minutes on the clock. However, a penalty flag erased the first down, and an errant snap on the third down led to a desperation pass that was intercepted by Julian Love. Barkley finished off the game-winning drive to cap the Giants’ comeback win.
Jones completed 19-of-27 passes for 173 yards and two scores. The fourth-year quarterback has passed for 1,021 yards and five touchdowns while tallying 236 yards and two scores on the ground.
Jackson threw for 210 yards and finished with 17 completions and a 71.1 passer rating. The dual-threat quarterback has 1,728 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns.
Barkley continued his stellar campaign with 83 yards on 22 carries and caught three passes. The former first-round pick has 771 rushing and receiving yards in six games.
The Ravens’ ground attack racked up 211 rushing yards and averaged 8.8 yards an attempt. Drake ran for 119 yards on 10 carries while Jackson rushed seven times for 77 yards.
Andrews finished with seven receptions for 106 yards and now has 39 catches, 455 yards, and five touchdowns on the season.
