HomeBleachers Exclusive Interview with Cory Butner – US Bobsled Pilot

During his childhood in San Bernardino County, Cory Butner by no means envisioned himself becoming an Olympian bobsledder.

Cory Butner started off the experience of bobsled during the spring of ’07 upon getting picked for a prospecting gathering in Lake Placid, N.Y. Cory participated as a push sportsman for two seasons, as well as helped move Napier towards 2009 National Championship title.  Butner made a decision to turn into a driver within the 2009-2010 season.  Butner rapidly surfaced among the country’s peak drivers, along with currently claimed 2 medals within his 1st whole season in the World Cup tour.

Shortly after the opening ceremony in Sochi; HomeBleachers reached out to Cory and asked him a few questions about the Olympics experience…here’s Cory Butner’s responseCory Butner 2014 Olympics Sochi

How does it feel representing the US in the Olympics; especially in a setting like Russia? – It feels great to be representing the USA against the best in the world. Russia has been great and I’m ready to race.

Is there any animosity from the people of Sochi towards the US team? – The people of Sochi have been so great! Very nice and always so happy and wanting to take pictures.

What was the biggest surprise for you in Sochi thus far? – The whole thing is amazing!!! I’m just in awe of the whole place is so amazing here.

Have you tried some native Russian food yet? If so what was your favorite? – Haha I have not…Been eating plenty of McDonalds.

What’s one bit of of advice would you tell any youngster watching the Olympics on TV? –  To all the youngsters…follow your dreams. No matter what anyone says, if you work hard you can achieve those dreams.
