HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Rhoades Car International, the nation’s leading 4-wheel bicycle manufacturer, today announced the release of its first model that allows all four passengers to pedal, the GoBoy X4.
President Bill Pomakoy says “We’ve had many requests for a 4-person model that allows all passengers to pedal. With some help from Mechanical Engineering students at Tennessee Tech University, we now have this model. Thanks to the double-sprocket free wheel system, the people in front can pedal in separate gears and the people in back simply pedal in tandem with them.” College of Engineering Dean Joseph Rencis said the commitment of Rhoades Car to TTU in this joint project “underscores my belief that we are educating our young people the right way.”
“The GoBoy X4 is perfect for a family with older kids,” says Phyllis Shelton, VP of Marketing. “According to the Centers for Disease Control, the obesity rate in the U.S. has reached an all-time high with 2/3 of Americans overweight and 1/3 obese. This bike promotes a great way to lose weight and get healthier while enjoying quality time with family.”
Lawrence Vivenzio, Director of Inside Sales, says the GoBoy X4 is great for bike rental and worksite wellness programs. “And if a company is looking for a healthy way for four employees to travel around a large plant or factory, the GoBoy X4 with its 28″ x 15″ cargo area is a perfect fit.”
At only 38″ wide, the GoBoy X4 is at home on greenways, parks or college campuses, and fits easily into the back of a pickup. It joins the 1 and 2 passenger GoBoy series.
