Oregon Ducks dominated the California Golden Bears

The Oregon Ducks dominated the California Golden Bears on Saturday, November 4, 2023, with a decisive 63-19 victory at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. The Ducks, ranked sixth in the nation, showcased their offensive prowess, led by quarterback Bo Nix, who threw for four touchdowns and ran for two more.

Despite an early interception by Nix on the first play of the game, the Ducks quickly regained control, scoring 21 unanswered points in the first quarter. Nix found tight end Terrance Ferguson for a 19-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring, and running back Noah Whittington added two touchdown runs to extend Oregon’s lead.

California managed to respond with a touchdown of their own in the second quarter, but the Ducks continued to pour it on, scoring three more touchdowns before halftime to take a commanding 42-7 lead into the break.

Oregon’s dominance continued in the second half, as they added three more touchdowns to their tally, while California managed only two field goals. Nix threw touchdown passes to wide receivers Troy Franklin and Kris Hutson, and running back Bucky Irving capped off the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run.

The Ducks’ defense also played a significant role in the victory, holding California to just 19 points and forcing three turnovers. Defensive end Brandon Dorlus led the way with two sacks, while linebacker Justin Flowe intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown.

With the win, Oregon improved to 9-2 on the season and maintained their hold on first place in the Pac-12 Conference. The Ducks will look to secure their spot in the Pac-12 Championship game.
