WACO, Texas — Oregon used a six-point advantage in its team routine to turn down Baylor on Saturday, collecting its fourth win in the past six days. The Ducks (9-0) won five-of-six events and topped the Bears (2-3) by a 284.700-276.035 margin at the Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas.

With one regular season meet remaining, head coach Felicia Mulkey’s Ducks are a perfect 9-0 this season. The three-time defending national champions have tallied 31 consecutive wins since the 2011 season, a streak that spans the last 25 meets.

Oregon’s 284.700 team score ranks second-best on the season, traling only its 286.100 earned in a tri-meet against Alderson Broaddus and Hawaii Pacific.

“It wasn’t our best meet tonight, but I’m proud of the team for powering through,” said Mulkey. “This was a tough meet to have at the end of a week-long trip. The toss event went well for us and the pyramid event continues to be strong.”

The Ducks remained unbeaten in the cumpolsury event, outscoring the Bears, 38.35-37.30. Oregon used a big score in toss (9.95) to jump out to an early lead.

Baylor trimmed UO’s lead to less than a point through acro, handing the Ducks their first event loss of the season (27.25-27.15). Oregon earned scores of 9.20, 8.80 and 9.15 in the event.

Oregon used a big advantage in the pyramid event (29.7-27.85) to reclaim control, posting scores of 9.85, 9.95 and 9.90 through three heats. At the midway point of the meet, Oregon led, 95.200-93.300.

The Ducks used three steady scores of 9.70 in the toss event to win their third event of the night, 29.100-28.450.

Oregon posted a narrow advantage in tumbling, 58.30-58.23, with a near-perfect score in the six-element pass (9.98).

Remaining unbeaten with their team routine, Oregon scored a 102.100 on the event compared to 96.060 for the Bears.

“We haven’t peaked yet and we are looking to continue to improve our scores for our last regular season meet,” said Mulkey.

Oregon closes the regular season next week in a meet with Azusa Pacific. The Ducks and Cougars will get underway on April 7 at 6:30 p.m. (PST) in Azusa, Calif. UO will then enter the postseason, searching for a fourth straight title at the NCATA National Championships. Azusa hosts the championships this season from April 24-26.
